Southern costa Blanca has some of the most beautiful beaches stretching for miles. Listed below are just a few:-

Guardamar del Segura

Guardamar del Segura is a lovely oasis of sand dunes, forests and beaches. It's a beautiful spot for a vacation retreat, whether you are hoping for peace and quiet or time spent on the waters. Guardamar del Segura sits at the mouth of the river Segura in the Costa Blanca region of Spain.

If you are planning a visit to Guardamar del Segura, you will find travel convenient through nearby Alicante Airport. The airport has all the necessary tourist services, including car rentals to make your journey from Alicante to Guardamar del Segura. Visitors to the area will find a wide range of water sports in the marina at Guardamar del Segura. Jet skiing, sailing, windsurfing, scuba diving and more are available in the waters at the mouth of the river. The harbour is home to nearly 500 moorings.

The beaches of Guardamar del Segura are perhaps some of the cleanest and best cared for in Spain, and the fifteen kilometer expanse of beach is large enough to allow for a pleasant experience, even during the busiest times of year.

Make Guardamar del Segura your home away from home for a short visit or a longer stay. You will surely find it both warm and welcoming. Take advantage of beautiful beaches, great water sport opportunities, and time in the sun. Enjoy the beauty of the dunes, the parks, and the waters of Guardamar del Segura, whether you prefer a quiet day on the beach or an active one on the water.

Santa Pola

You will find Santa Pola 20km south from Alicante airport taking the N332 highway, between Alicante and La Marina or the next big town of Guardamar del Segura.
In the town of Santa Pola you can find the castle fortress (Castillo Foraleza de Santa Pola) built in the 16th Century to defend from pirates, surrounded by 20th century beautiful architecture. Santa Pola has the biggest deep sea and coastal fishing fleet in the Mediterranean. The harbour has a ferry that can take you to the very popular Tabarca Island, 6.5km offshore where Charles III fortified and resided with the Genoese prisoners in the 18th Century.
Santa Pola was where the portus illicitanus roman ruins were found, other clear signs of this era is the low imperial and roman factory for salting fish from the 4th Century B.C. where Santa Pola was the prosperous fishing village on the Costa Blanca whereas now it is over taken by tourism. Famous for its salt lakes and protected wet lands which is very important for the habitat of many species of bird particularly the flamingo.

For beach lovers, you have the beautiful sandy beaches in Santa Pola, Gran Playa, Playa llisa and Santa Pola Del Este which are worth spreading your towel on. You can find a selection of water sports at Playa Llisa. Canoeing, sailing, kite surfing and wind surfing are a few.

Pola Park is a great fair ground for children and very well priced, pay for a family ticket or if you don't feel like joining in you are free to walk around with the rest of your group at no extra cost! (Don't hear that often) You can go on as many of the rides as you like, and as often as you like. They have the Chinese wok buffet onsite along with a few other burger bars, in the summer Polar Park is open from 7:30pm until 2am!! Double check in case they change their hours but this has been the same for a few years.

 Benidorm

Benidorm is 38.8 miles north of Alicante Airport following the N332. It was once a fishing village whereas today it is now known for its hotel industry, beaches and skyscrapers which have been built up over the years due to the high demand of tourism in the area.

There are three major beaches in Benidorm - Levante, Poniente and Mal Pas. Each one has reached the maximum quality of the European Union and therefore each hold a blue flag. The tallest building in the whole of Spain stands in the city of Benidorm at 186 meters high and is a 4 star hotel (Gran hotel Bali). There are currently 310 buildings taller than 35 meters and it is claimed that after New York Benidorm has the most skyscrapers in the world.

Playas De Campoamor

A few miles south of Torrevieja, with fine white sand and all the usual things, sun loungers / sun shades to rent, pedallos, jet skis, bars & snack bars & volley ball nets.  There are 3 main beaches in Campoamor: Cala de Campoamor, Playa de Campoamor & Caleta de la Glea.
